A love of the beauty of God’s creation and a desire to interpret that beauty through drawing and painting have been major factors in my life.
I studied art throughout middle school, high school, and at the University of Memphis. After marrying and having two children, my art creation opportunities centered around church, scouts, and my children’s schools. When I became faced with “the empty nest”, I started taking watercolor classes. My love of painting has grown and expanded to include oils and my favorite medium, pastels.
I have continued my art education by taking workshops and classes from locally and nationally known artists, including Don Andrews, Alan Flattman, Janet Walsh, Greg Biolchini, Suzanna Winton, Paul DeMarrais, Richard McKinley, Tom and Peggy Root.
I was honored by having a pen and ink drawing displayed in the White House during Christmas 1999. I have executed commissions for a book cover, a Music CD cover, pastel portraits, and several private residences and historic buildings in Tennessee and Alabama.
