Pete Wyatt
 Artisanal Herbal Soap-maker

Following six years in the U. S. Air Force with service in Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, Pete Wyatt spent 37 years with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. He was a Boating Safety Officer during the 1982 World’s Fair, a Wildlife Officer in Unicoi County, an Endangered Species Biologist, and Regional Wildlife Program Manager for East Tennessee.

Pete is an Appalachian Heritage Cooking Instructor, an Outdoor Cooking Instructor, and Open Fire & Cowboy Cooking Instructor. He has taught Continuing Education classes at East Tennessee State University to include: Appalachian Flora & Fauna, Dutch Oven Cooking, Rare and Endangered Species of the Southern Appalachians, and has presented numerous programs in Biological Studies.

Since his retirement in 2014, Pete has turned his skills to soap-making and using native medicinal plants to make salves.

He currently spends his time at either his remote cabin at the Ephraim Place atop Unaka Mountain or his 200-year-old log cabin at Burbank (Roan Mountain), alongside Toll Creek. He is writing several books at the present time and I traveling with his companion, Madam X.
