Matthew is a native of Unicoi county and currently resides in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Honing his craft since the age of five, Matthew specializes in pencil drawings that feature nature, people and still life. His renderings range from the ordinary to the intriguing.

He received training from Art Instructions Schools and continues to refine his craft by constantly finding new subjects of interest to capture. He spends his free time studying nature, gardening, and fresh water fishing - all of which he sees as a source of inspiration for his drawings.
