Juanita Payne Dobson
"Winged Spirit Feather Art"

Juanita Payne Dobson, a self-taught multi-medium artisan, sets a High standard of craftsmanship while using nontraditional materials. Each  original feather art design represents the unique art style of painting on feathers linked to a story of it’s meaning through native American myths or totems. Award-winning “Winged Spirits” Feather Art is collected worldwide.

“As ‘Spirits’ of Children of the Earth  reveal  themselves, I carefully blend acrylic paint  into  the  feathers creating  the  illusion  I  visualize for others to enjoy!   Due to the unusual  medium,  the  art of  painting on feathers  and framing  is  extremely difficult.    The  majority  of  feathers  used  are  turkey  and grouse, which  are  not altered  in any way,  making  it a  delicate  and time consuming  process  and cannot be mass produced.   The original design in the feather is incorporated when possible to evolve  into the story subject often  with  hidden  images.   Each unique  creation  is   numbered,   dated,   and   signed.  No   two “Winged  Spirits”  are   identical,   making   each    illustration  a   unique  and  timeless  work  of  art  to  be cherished.

“Winged Spirits” possess a special knowledge of mother Earth and serve as nature guides throughout life’s journey! . . . May the tracks we leave behind inspire our ancestors.”  Artisan Juanita Payne Dobson . . .  JPD
